I was honoured to be invited by TracyFrankland to participate in her series of interviews for Facebook Live. In this interview, I get to share lots of information concerning my role as an end-of-life/death doula in Newmarket, Ontario.
A common misconception is that I only help people who are sick or dying. In fact, that is not the case. Yes, I provide practical, emotional, and spiritual support for individuals facing their end of life, but I also help healthy adults contemplate their final days in advance, so that they may live fully until the time comes.
As a certified Grief Educator, with an additional certification in Grief Literacy, I also provide support to individuals and their families, both before and after a loss.
I have a special interest in supporting grieving children through honest conversation and compassionate listening. As a former Primary teacher and mother of two bereaved children, I use a variety of tools and strategies to encourage them to identify and share their feelings in a safe space.
If you get the chance to listen to our conversation here, you will have a good idea of the range of services I offer, and I would love to hear from you if I can help in any way.
